provincetown
sigh
not adjusting well to being back in NYC. Just got back from my little fall vacation in p-town. the pic above is from the first day landing there, a week ago Friday. We had literally just set our bags down, and I said, “Let’s take a walk to the Pier.” so we left the condo, crossed Commercial Street and onto Ryder towards MacMillan Pier, and there the darn thing was up high in the Provincetown Harbor sky. For some odd reason I relinquished my camera, and just ran towards the darn thing, and then saw the whale watching boat coming in. What a view that must’ve been coming into town with the rainbow overhead! anyway, expect a few more vacation slides photos as I sort through them.
quick weekend getaway
seals!
Beautiful animals amassing at High Head Beach (just south, or is that east, or is that west? of Provincetown – just outside of town!), which you can see on the map – we actually took a RIGHT, but there were seals to the left when you arrived on the beach as well.
whales!
July 8th, 8:36pm
having had a fantastic weekend in Provincetown, even after leaving and riding on the speeding Fast Ferry towards Boston, I kept snapping pictures. With all the pinks, and blues, and purples, I thought I’d get something good. Alas, 30+ pictures later, all blurry! But I am wise enough never to delete anything (thanks to digital cameras and HUGE memory cards!) until I am really sure. The one above looks a bit like a painting – I only wish I could have captured how smooth and glassy the water looked; and the one below, well, I’m sure there are thousands of identical ones on facepage, flickher, and photobasket, but it’s still my pic, just as the boat was leaving the harbor, after a wonderful weekend with my baby, so I like it.
lunch time!
took the 10:30am whale watch last Saturday morning (sorry bears, I’ll always pick whales over bears — except my sweetiepiebear, of course!), and it was just amazing to see these wonderful creatures so close to us. What I didn’t catch on my own camera, which we hope the nice professional photographer lady caught (2-4 weeks for delivery – I can’t wait!!), was an amazing full breach right off the right side of the boat. For ease of viewing, I converted the original file size of this video down from 113MB’s to 10MB’s – hope the quality is still good enough to enjoy!
