Even watching the documentary about his life, I can’t figure out why he turned to straight porn and then married Margaret Whiting (who completely denied his gay past).
It’s all quite fascinating. His life and career that is.
People usually turn to straight porn for more better paying roles.
And he was quite open about being gay.
Their marriage did last (Love, go figure).
And strangely despite their age difference she outlived him, even if just by a couple of years. Gone too soon!

I watched the Jack Wrangler documentary, but it glosses over the the most controversial stuff such as Wrangler switching to straight porn after doing everything conceivable for gay porn & how the AIDS crisis didn’t touch him directly, but it got most of his former co-stars.
They do note before AIDS, it was easier for the gay porn stars to do straight porn & move back & forth between the genres. After AIDS, this line is far more obvious.
They also downplayed other male gay porn stars who died of AIDS from the Jack Wrangler documentary.
