nope – that’s just publication date (for the magazine) not date photo was taken – I think he was in PHYSIQUE PICTORIAL by 1974, and quite possibly earlier (there’s a small pic of him with leg in caste! is it pervy to want to see that?)

Not at all! I wanna see it. Leg cast as porn prop? Unique and realistic. I love shit like that. You might see something like that from Old Reliable.
The guy with Tico (unibrow and multiple tats as Johnny pointed out, plus those big hefty balls) looks vaguely familiar to me also. Too many tats on a guy now make me sort of zone out but it was a lot less common in the vintage years, and often signified military service regardless of what they said. But anyway I don’t have the expertise you guys do in terms of collecting older magazines, and the more I look I think his face just reminds me of someone I knew once and always had a crush on.
IAFD is sort of like GEVI except focused on all porn, not just the gay side of the fence. And they have a ‘tattoo finder’ function where you can type in a keyword and see if it leads to a match of know performers where they described it. I’m not sure if the mystery man here even did porn, and a quick stab in the dark typing ‘shamrock’ (since that’s what one of the forearm tats looks like to me) led to some performer matches, but nobody who seemed like the guy here. Thanks for the link Zephyr! I also have used IAFD from time to time. With the gay porn listings, I have sometimes found that they are just getting stuff from GEVI (or maybe vice-versa) because if there’s a mistake on GEVI, it will appear the same way on IAFD. Still, it’s a terrific resource.
I also think this photo might go too far back. Certainly, we know that GEVI only lists film performers, so if the guy was never in a film, he won’t be there. But I may try searching the AMG softcore films on GEVI. Or IAFD.
I think GEVI has a tattoo search function as well, but I have not had much luck with it. It’s a bit more complicated to figure out.
I more or less share your feelings on tats. There seems to be a bit too much of it happening these days for me. And is it necessary to totally cover huge areas of the body? I try to judge it on a case-by-case basis. And I am more likely to forgive “too many” tats if I like the guy as a performer. I think it’s a fascinating topic though.
