Head Bangers (1991) – gosh if any of you have seen this, or even heard of this, I don’t know what to say. OK, polite thing would be nothing, right? Or – “not my taste”
– in all seriousness I think the only name I recognize is Rick Pantera, (is this movie, perhaps his first, why he chose that porn name?) frequent guest on THE ROBIN BYRD SHOW.
Oh, and it “Includes a spectacular music video performed by Tommy Wilde” (who “portrays” pop star Nikki Steele)

Absolutely not is about as polite as I can be. Lol.
If MTV was playing stuff like Warrant, Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, Whitesnake and the other hair metal bands I usually took a hard pass, though it was quite popular at the time. I knew a lot of people who were drawn to that music and look (and they were the ones who had the most and best pot LOL), and I guess this film was trying to appeal to those on the margins of that subsection who were also gay guys. Since we don’t all look alike and you can’t judge a book by it’s cover and all that. But yeah, I’d much rather have watched Madonna videos and Club MTV.
The names that jump out at me the most are Billy Houston and Richard Lawrence, both tied to the death of Billy London. The former Billy being the one who eventually confessed, after being locked up for skinhead murders he committed in Oklahoma during the decade of the 00s. And Lawrence for convincing the police investigating that case that he could be a connection to the industry but in reality using that liaison claim to cover up for the killer and other crimes going on within the gay side of porn, especially the YMAC and twink films regardless of what the performers looked like.
Billy Houston was almost cute in this film, and the other one where he featured prominently, The Devil & Danny Webster (which also had Tommy Wilde in it so that was the other name that jumped out at me). At least until you know what he was about to do after his porn life ended. I was in touch with the guy mentioned in this article through reddit and he even helped Rachel Mason make a documentary about the case earlier this year, that I’ve been meaning to see.
