anything goes

I found a recent article about Mickey on the site for the B.A.R., have you seen this? The guys who made the short documentary about Tom DeSimone and his film Sur (with Clay Russell), and also the one about Palm Drive called Raw Uncut Video… anyway those filmmakers are working on a new project about Mickey. Who is still around and was interviewed for the article:

There are various pics of him (including a current one) going down the side of the page, one of which really captured my interest. It’s the one near the top where he’s got an open jar of vaseline right in front of his chest, and the caption below it says it was unpublished and dates to either 83 or 84. The pics are rather small but I tried to enlarge that one and posted it to reddit, you can find that here:

thanks, hadn’t seen the article, but am well aware of the doc! thanks for the link – I was also trying to collect magazine covers of Mickey, so this may have a couple i don’t yet have. I’ve been contemplating my donation to the effort, but, um…. not too thrilled with the t-shirt design. sigh.

that vaseline pic is awesome – a better version can be found on their instagram page

or here:

Glad you found a better pic since the reddit post I made was removed by the moderator there. He didn’t think it was “artistic or erotic enough”, whatever because I liked it too. Sorry for another dead link here though.

I know that you were aware of the earlier docs made by this company, because we had talked about that Sur one a while back. I hope they get the funding to do it justice and am glad to know Mickey is still around and will participate in it himself, unlike so many from his era.
