The above photo of HOKE is from Target’s Javelin #1 (1975) – I think there was only one other image of him! Other than an issue of Playguy from October 1976 (issue 1-5), there’s been no where else to see this man. But then, in 1987, Manscape 2 publishes the below 6 from “Starbuck” – maybe they are the same as the Playguy pics?
and maybe this notation of available pics from Target back in 1974 are also the same pics we see below?

“maybe they are the same as the Playguy pics?”
Yes, they are. They’re from the same set. Playguy V1 N5. I don’t have the full issue, but I believe there were only 3 photos of “Hoke” (including the cover). One is the pic with him standing smoking in front of the 2×4 beam (and a cropped version of the same photo is on the cover). The other doesn’t appear in the Manscape 2 spread. He’s squatting in front of the large white box which can be seen in many of the pics. It’s a hot photo. If there were more in that issue I guess I just don’t have them. I’ll send you what I have.
Not important, but I think you might’ve meant to type Feb 1977 for that issue. Oct 1976 was the 1st issue of Playguy. At least, that’s what my notes say.
I’m really loving these posts exploring old Target photos and the stuff published under the “Starbuck” alias. I feel like there is so much of Target that has been lost to time and it kills me.
Thanks BJ!
