“An in-tight, inside, insightful interview with bad-bay genius J.D. Slater by Clayton Winfield”; originally published in Drummer 152 (1991)
I will admit to not yet reading the interview in its entirety; but I pulled it out of the drafts folder in order to have a post go up. There’s some here about J.D.’s directing.
Speaking of, Hard was his directorial debut. That movie also had a theme song by J.D., and was another of the many movies cut down from its original length (87 minutes) to a shorter version (72 minutes) in subsequent releases by HIS video.

Has anyone seen Mr. Slater’s “Guilty,” starring Richard Locke?
i really wonder if Locke is in the original video (and no, i haven’t seen it) The initial reviews in Drummer and Manshots don’t mention Locke – but a subsequent re-release has his name on the cover, as well as “director’s cut” with additional footage.”
it was some company or website called SPUNK, or SCUM, or something like that….
