It’s been a while since I watched this, I remember hearing about it long before I sat down to view (and then review) it. Seems likely your blog was one of the places I’d read things and seen pics, and gevi of course. The slaughterhouse scene really stuck in my head long after watching it, that seems like cinema verite and not just using a set made to look like one. A little too verite for my tastes, not sexual at all to me but authentic for sure.
That experimental thrash-sounding song by Camile O’Grady performed at the Warehouse was interesting too, the only music not credited to the Village People.
The picture quality of the preview clip was outstanding, so much better than almost any older film I find on the usual sites. It’s great when vintage porn movies are cleaned up and remastered for festivals or wherever else they get shown, though this can lead to companies getting in the way and taking clips down sometimes. Because they want folks to actually pay to watch them (what a concept!) but the end result brings more attention to them, and that’s always a good thing.
Excellent clip- I love the scenes of the city in 1970s. It really takes me back, but it’s from a different perspective than what I had back then. I was too young, and then as a teen and in my 20s, I was intimidated by the city. I was raised in Baltimore, but did not grow up downtown. I guess I’m not a city boy.
Also I wanted English sub-titles. What was he saying? And I took French in high school.
Very hot scene – gets right into it. Kitty cat! This is scene 6, right? David King and Christopher Dock are both so sexy. It’s intense and intimate.
But, um, the way the kitty is just there in the room watching. Is it just me that finds that creepy? Pets out of the room during sex for me, please. Adorable kitty though. Basically steals the show from them.
Then sharing the apple! Wow. What a great idea. I never found food sex appealing, but this is just so natural and it’s not sex. Just a juicy kiss. But it’s all over too soon. And then Anita Bryant is like a bucket of cold water thrown all over everything. I know it’s an important part of our history, but I don’t need it in this scene. Those 3 minutes could’ve been more fucking. Sorry, Marvin Merkins. It’s just how I feel.
Thanks so much for this taste, BJ. Now I wanna’ see the rest! I’m gonna’ head on over for YY’s review- thanks for that link- and watch the film. Awesome!
Ooh, and I also love that cover art. It looks like REX with the pointillism he is known for, and the date is right, but there is another erotic artist who used a similar style. Rex did a LOT of commercial art though in the ’70s, so it’s gotta’ be him. I know no one else cares really, but it’s cool to me.
