Let me just say that I didn’t love him, didn’t hate him – the whole “I never did that gay stuff” was obviously annoying, and kinda dumb (we’ve all seen the videos). While Kelvin Blunt’s What Ever Happened to Matt Ramsey? offers a more sympathetic view of North’s denials (“North didn’t create the stigma he was being measured against, yet he was made to carry it by consumers, directors, and the adult industry”) I kinda lean more towards Blunt’s quote from William Higgins – “a very mixed up boy who thought he was absolutely straight and just loved to be fucked. Loved to be fucked. He just insisted to the last second that he was straight – but loved to get fucked.” (I might add he loved to get his ass eaten as well! And while I haven’t seen the documentary Peter (not gonna pay for it!) I don’t expect much from the prospect of “he comes clean on it” if by coming clean we mean he “admits” to actually loving the gay sex, but it’s just a small part of who he is. I’m guessing it’s more – Sure, I did it, I’m a good actor so I made it convincing that I was enjoying it because that was the roll. And that’s fine. I do think Kelvin’s larger point with much of what he writes about – just not about North, is that we place a lot – A LOT – of our “stuff” about porn, gayness, sexuality in general on the specific actors/models and less on ourselves or society. I certainly prefer the stars like Wrangler and Locke who wanted to be GAY porn stars, over the guys who were just trying to make a few bucks – but if I said I didn’t get off (several times over the years) watching the Brian Michaels scene from The Bigger the Better I’d be lying! (In my opinion, Brian Michaels carried that scene – he’s so hot!)

With a few possible titles yet to be confirmed. I think I mentioned this to you, The Master of the Discipline is a maybe since all I could find was the first half, and he doesn’t get fucked in that part. But apparently Joe Craig gets his revenge on the bullies in the later parts of that one. Mind Games is really the other most likely possibility since the rest of his original films seem like solo scenes he did.
There are a few subreddits devoted to Matt as Peter, I landed on one and read comments from users who claimed to have watched the doc (I haven’t seen it either, I would if it were free someplace though). And a few of those said that the way he described this period had something to do with the mafia, and threatening to break his legs unless he got fucked onscreen?? That would have to confirmed by someone who has seen it but it seems like a far-fetched, face-saving excuse if that’s what he said about it.
He must have the ‘no homo’ mindset fully ingrained in him at this point, I’m not sure if anybody ever comes back from that when it runs that deep. I guess if someone’s private sex life becomes so public and a part of his identity due to him making it his career, maybe it can lead there.
I feel like I’m repeating some of this so sorry if that’s the case.
There is a sex therapist saying he has clients who has straight men who love having gay sex. The straight men like the sensation gay sex creates & their female partners are unwilling to participate so they seek out gay sex. They do not have a “gay lifestyle” other than the occasional gay sex.
Matt Ramsey as Peter North would fit this hypothesis, but, once he became Peter North, he completely dropped the gay identity. He disavows Matt Ramsey, although the video evidence cannot be denied.
I’m sure going from gay to str8 porn wasn’t easy in the AIDS era, he mostly likely tried to cover it up so he could work. Condoms were hardly ever used in str8 porn and at the time North was involved in gay porn, they weren’t used then, either.
