Rough Trades (1977) director: Jack Deveau
After some criticism of too much plot and not enough sex in his films, this was Jack’s answer: A film involving “blue collar” guys having sex with each other, and the owner of a New York penthouse that they are working on. I believe this was shot in Deveau’s own building.

This movie has EVER-Y-THING!! Myles Longue sucking cock (and getting his sucked, of course) Vegetables (well, up lovely David Gorsky’s butt – pixilated in this version, alas!), DAVID GORSKY (that mustached Mediterranean look is what made me want to move to NYC 20some years ago), elevator sex, elevator shaft sex, phonerepairmen (David Gorsky again – oops). With Hugh Allen, David Gorsky, Myles Longue (aka Ed Wiley), Bobby Cruz, Rit Young, and Steve Dory.

BJ, thanks for David Gorsky–I think it might be love–but who? I’m having trouble finding anything about him–pics, anything.

not a lot of pictures – but I think he was featured in a Blueboy special edition, under another name, Pablo (of Pablo & Eduardo) I think.

Crotchy atmospheric roof photo, beautiful. Nothing like a summery Manhattan roof for sex. I used to do it on mine in a garden I made there before it was closed off by lesbians in 1997.

There was a great veggie-ass scene in ‘Homologues ou Le
Soif du Male’, which had Karl Forrest in it but was several years before ‘Le Beau Mec’, showed for about 2 months at the Adonis, and was well-known in France at the time. Had this very bittersweet, sad music throughout. The star’s name I don’t remember, but I think it’s on Erotic Video Index. I’ve tried to get that and another film from 1975 ‘Gay Guide to Hawaii’, which has fantastic fucking, for years. But I think they’re out of print, although Homologues you could probably dig up in Paris. It had incredible scenes, including a pinball pickup of a mustachioed guy in hot pants who is the hottest bottom I’ve ever seen. There’s also a very sexy leather guy doing a real dance (not ballet, but not just writhing around either) which has the (nicely) predictable Gallic finesse and elegance like the rest of the film. I’m not sure where Karl Forrest was in the film, I suppose he could have been the dancer, but the film was much better than ‘Le Beau Mec’ and was better than anything I saw in the 80s by Cadinot too. I believe I remember that hot blonde star also did a scene at one of the old piers, much better than the ones in ‘Macho Man’. http://www.gayeroticvideoindex.com/V/0/14260.html Would love to see it again (also 1977, that was a sexy year in particular here.) This was also better than the Deveau/DeRome ‘Adam and Yves’, although I’m very fond of that, and saw it about 3 times when it opened at 55th St. Playhouse, that long-dead cinema which was always startling in that posh location. I remember seeing Peter Hardwick a few years later on the street just after I’d been to the Adonis! There’s another Peter Hardwick, though, who was in legal trouble in Atlanta, getting caught doing 69. You may know the case, I need to look up the details. Anyway, Eld/Young was stunning in ‘Adam and Yves’, and there was that extra charm De Rome used with Ned Roremish music over the Etoile.

Sorry if I rambled too off-topic, but I appreciate the shots of Gorsky too. I hadn’t been familiar with him.
