Men Come First (Scene2) Brian Granger, Roy Garrett, Beau Weston (1979/1980?) – from director Francis Ellie

Brian Granger (apparently has been in only one film), Roy Garrett, and Beau Weston (AKA Brian Ray – who you loved as Santa in Navy Blue)
Derrick (Roy Garrett) admires Brian’s pretty product shoulder bag. Brian explains his product and it turns out the Derrick can never cum. Brian helps out with some sex on the couch. They 69 but then while Brian is getting screwed, who should walk in but Derrick’s lover, Mr. Converse (Beau Weston). Brian asks that the two lovers show him what the problem is. As Derrick fucks Mr. Converse and struggles to cum, Brian applies a new experimental product to Derrick’s ass – a bottle rocket! (this is why I love this scene!)

Why do I feel that I’ve had experiences like this, or at least similar?
Not so much with the pyrotechnics, but the crazed desperation, frustration, and ultimately drained and exhausted completion feels real.
I can’t believe he put a firework up his ass. Boys, don’t try this at home!
Hot! I love to walk in on someone and watch.
Even if Roy spent the majority of that scene thrashing about without really fucking Beau the comedy is there, which is an aspect often ignored when it comes to porn. Not mockery, we gay guys get enough of that in our day to day lives. It’s a fine line and I think it’s great when a vintage film manages to have some element that draws upon humor, even if it’s just in passing.
Thanks for the review link. Regarding the year, I’d have to watch the whole thing again to see if it’s mentioned in the credits. But if you look at the very bottom of the gevi listing you sometimes find a list of references. And the first one indicates an ad that ran in Gay Scene from November 1979, when it was playing at the Big Top in NYC. So I likely used that as confirmation that the film existed in some form as of 1979, and chose the corresponding year.
There are a few scans of Gay Scene at the Houston LGBT History page linked below, one from May ’79 and another from March ’80. That section is a little over halfway down the page:

If you tried to write a porn scene in the style of a Warner Bros cartoon…this pretty much nails it. Don’t get me wrong…it’s got some appeal. But you can definitely picture the same storyline with a coyote, and cat, and a skunk, right?
