help me, somebody!

Y’all know I scour magazines, online and in my porno closet and porno basement, for good images – and sometimes I find not so great quality, but still worthwhile imagery like this here of our buddy BRUNO (and a buddy) from a 1990 issue of Mandate, accompanying some friction fiction – someone else’s scan, so I shouldn’t complain (I’ll leave that to pointing out not a single comment on my Bruno post from last month (not that truck, linked above). But quality aside, I am an idiot when it comes to merging two images of a sliced-in-half photo – the ones below. Help me, somebody!

(edit/update:) thanks Zephyr!

Paint is a good program to use, especially if you just want a basic side-by-side of images that may not be 100% perfect. You open one image, expand out the size of the field to make room for what you want to insert, then go to ‘file-import to canvas’ and play around with trying to line it up. Easier when you just want two or more images to share space in a larger one, the lining everything up exactly part from split images in magazines like this can be more advanced. But still possible. I did an amateur combo of this and will email it to you soon.

Thanks Zephyr!

Good to know. I’ve been trying to figure out how to join two JPGs for a while. I really tried for a time, but had no success. I didn’t know you could use Paint. Or maybe I did and I still couldn’t do it? I’ll try again. I have a number of digital sets with images that need to be joined.

thanks! and I forget I use paint, for that exact reason to put 2 pics side by side, but never thought to put two halves side by side! I use paint.net to straighten photos I’m scanned but didn’t manage to get straight.

Yes that’s one of the best uses for paint.net, is the ability to nudge things a few degrees in either direction when they are crooked. I’m pretty sure original versions of Paint had that ability (maybe 20+ years ago) but they dropped it by later versions of Windows, and streamlined it only leaving the most basic of functions. Dot-net has lots of other tools and enhancers that can improve the ways older pics look when they are subpar.

You can also play around with either and make super tall images if you ever felt like it, maybe 500 across and 5000 down, and just scroll to read it all (or add to the bottom even by expanding the dimensions). You have this blog aligned vertically for me on desktop, the width of what shows on each page is confined to about the center third of my screen. I’d guess that makes it easier to read on phones and pads and such which I rarely use. It’s not a complaint just an observation. But the images themselves can be any size, often bigger when I click and open in a new tab.

yes – the wordpress configuration is to maximize views on tablets and phones – but you are also right that if you right click and open an image in a separate window, you’ll get the full version of what I’ve uploaded – I’ve tried to be more conscientious of including larger size images if I have them. I try not to do too much with “enhancing” – if possible I want them to look like they did in the actual magazine or video – but there are times it’s tempting when you get out of focus, or poor quality versions in a cheaply manufactured magazine (think blueboy and numbers by the mid 80’swith that superthin paper)

So much to like here!

Bruno. Jocks. Bruno with this hot guy who is in a jock.

Do you ever see the other guy’s face? I’d love to know who it is. I wonder if these photos were ever published as a larger set in an earlier mag.
