If I were to have just ONE pic of Michael Braun, – this one.
a videography would be in order, right? Less than a dozen films…. of course, gotta include magazines…. no no – more drafts!

Trying to get some wiggle room on the hard drive, so continuously looking for duplicate files, bad quality files (like these former Windows Media video files), and stuff that is uploaded to my site, and I no longer need a duplicate copy on this machine. Apologies for quality, but, here ya go. Bruno, above; various William Higgins clips, below.

Is it true I’ve only posted about him only once before? – perhaps I’ve used his pic, but not his name…. From the Close-Up Production magazines Workload 1 and Workload 2, both from 1982. I think this first one below I must’ve posted, right?

If it’s not obvious, the first magazine above shows Chris (and Ryder – AKA Lee Ryder (elder) sigh) working in a warehouse; the 2nd, below, in an office (Chris is a Junior Vice President, Ryder, President of the company)

and those of you familiar with CLOSE-UP, and the WORKLOAD series, probably know that most of Workload 2 actually features the Office Manager, Michael Braun, whacking off in his office, being surrounded by these hot execs!

oh, 1979 and to be a spokesmodel for a high quality product – available in money-saving supersize!
but seriously, I have long liked this model, his pose – the treasure trail, the eye-contact with the camera, the top button unbuttoned… but I wonder, have we seen him in photos or film outside of this ad campaign?

Many of you know I dig Joe Roberts – in fact you can see more Joe Roberts in BJLAND – but I didn’t realize I had one of his short films on a VHS tape I bought some years ago on the street, a West Village street fair, one of the few left that actually had folks clean out a basement and try to sell their stuff on the street (with minimal socks and sausage vendors, as well). At the time, I hesitated to make the purchase – not just becasue of the inconvenience of carrying around 2 tapes (what was the other one?), but more so because I was dating someone who, as it turned out, was a bit too hung up on my interest in vintage porn and my blog discussing that (and other rambling things!) But I bought it them anyway, while he was looking through another merchants stuff…

So, I finally digitized the tape, and below you can view this particular short film starring Joe Tharp (AKA Joe Roberts) and Daryl Paige. Gosh, I’ve even posted about A Good Day’s Work previously, but without the video. Enjoy!

Now, if you’ve read all the way to the bottom, do you think Daryl is thinking the whole time, “I need to take that comb out of my back posket and fix my hair” ???

what is he finding in there?

I was sure I must’ve posted pics, or a clip from Arch Brown‘s 1978 film, Pier Groups. But, alas, it appears I have not. So here is a preview/promo I stumbled upon while, of course, looking for something else.
Starring: Keith Anthoni, Alan Miles (Keith’s lover), Johnny Kovaks (Joe, the contractor), Rose Tattu; Pier Men – Victor Houston, Sven Jensen, Niles Long, Michael Penn, Ryder, Tone Stalione, Josef Tempesta

The cast list above is from the film itself, and the model “Niles Long” is NOT Myles Longue – some confusion happened some years back as the PM Productions packaging listed “Miles Long” – and at some point others thought they just misspelled Myles Longue (AKA Ed WIley) who was in fact in a Target film called Pier Pals which added to the confusion. You’ll see the same thing when you scroll down to the 2000’s VHS packaging as well.
My memory is that there is plenty of Pink Floyd, and some other late 70’s tunes (like Elton John) on the soundtrack. The tune for this preview is Cleanup Time, by Lewis Furey – not sure if that is also in the film.

Back when I sold a VHS copy in 2006, here is the beginning of my description: ” Keith Anthoni and his lover (Alan Miles) wake up and have morning sex. Meanwhile, Johnny Kovaks wakes up in bed with his wife, and gets a call from work – telling him to go to the West Side Piers to work up a demolition bid for the City. Anthoni has an unexpected day off – and passses neighbor Kovacs in the hall as he heads off to – those same notorious WEST SIDE PIERS! It’s fun to watch Kovacs work – measuring, jotting notes, non-chalantly moving past writhing bodies, in his construction outfit, as various clones eye him and realize he’s not there for sex like everyone else.” Of course, what I left out was that you might be disappointed with the ending – Johnny never engages with the other men, and in fact, each man arrives back at their apartment building at the same time, and Keith longingly looks at Johnny as he …. greets his wife! Arrrgggghhh!
