anyway, I know the suspense is killing you – “fuck off asshole I ain’t gonna do it!” – will he or won’t he? The setting, the dialogue, it’s getting me all, er, nostalgic – yes! nostalgic for my twenties living in NYC! This was supposed to be a simple post – nab the video, edit, nab some stills, post. But I made the “mistake” of looking for a good link – got it from our pal Yorj Yefferson/ over at REDDIT (see link to review below) but got distracted by getting caught up in ID’ing some of the music – and I found at least 2 tracks from The Warriors (The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) – (Theme From “The Warriors” and Baseball Furies Chase – which i am certain I have heard used in Joe Gage/Mac Larsen films…. but I digress) and I would bet there’s more pulled from that soundtrack. There’s another tune played during the Stanley Richards scene, again, familiar and likely to have shown up in another porno, most likely Gage/Larsen. but that’s for another post – or comments, who knows? and that’s why I have so many posts languishing in the drafts folder, waiting for one more link, one more pic, before hitting “publish.”

What I Like About You

I was working on something else, somehow wound up on my own A NIGHT AT HALSTED’S soundtrack page, and realized none of the music links worked! Aaaaaarrrghhh! So I had to figure out what was wrong, download, upload, update pages, and then figured all that and I bet the page hardly gets any hits any longer….

But back around – on gosh, don’t say it – the turn of the Century, someone found my geogities pages, after trying to figure out who the hell put cool music on a porno he was watching… long story short, he and another pal of mine spent weeks trying to ID each and find a digital version of each tune, and eventually got all 26. Then my Kansas buddy sent me a homemade CD of the final product.

If you look back at my earlier archives ( the “blogger years” – April 2001 to March 2010 ) – you can see some of my rambling on the topic – “night+at+halsted’s” Oh look – there was a time I was the only search result for “A NIGHT AT HALSTED’S SOUNDTRACK”, but if you keep the phrase in quotes, I’m 3rd, which is better than none. Anyway, all that and cover model for the film JW King, from an August 1982 HONCHO. Now that I’ve spent all this time talking about everything but the film, I think I need to revisit it, as I recall not enjoying it much, but for the plexiglass glory-hole scene. Kansas City Trucking Co. (1976) intro – yes, the first 30+ seconds the screen is black and you vaguely hear, a radio? And soon enuf, the haunting them by Al Steinman – til this day still gets me excited!

L. A. Tool & Die (1979) – for this trailer, the music is (but in the film, don’t recall if it plays, but otherwise, it’s Music by Al Steinman, Harmonica solos by Chuck Thatcher. ) from Isaac Hayes – Run Faye Run – from the Three Tough Guys soundtrack.

Heatstroke (1982) “It’s 7.a.m., it’s 112 in the shade, and the temperature is rising.” – loves this trailer, but, if your kinda ladyphobic like me, be forewarned, there’s a good amount of Suzanne Tyson’s kinda nekkid body is this clip – and also, of course, Man Parrish‘s Heatstroke – THE porno movie soundtrack song!

Apparently, I’ve posted this before; but when I realized I have two versions of the film, one maybe 20-30 seconds shorter, but also different soundtracks – I thought it deserved some attention. I’m sure the original had no soundtrack, but then when it went to video, got added music; the one above, which I previously posted is longer but added that awful tacky “old timie” music, like someone’s tying someone to railroad tracks or something! The one below, is shorter, but with different music, which, I must say, I also don’t think was the selection when NOVA first put this out on videotape – I think it is also a much later version, music-wise – and there’s at least one frequent poster who may well recognize it. In any case, which do you prefer?
