(BTW, the music is SPACE’s Magic Fly). Remember guys, this is also the film with the wonderful blowjob in the helicopter flying over Manhattan skyline scene.

i just re-watched this – damn I love this scene! While I do like some of the work of Francis Ellie, it’s often not that well done. But here, the disco music, the Christmas tree and lights, the slow “dance” between George and Jack, and the unwrapping of the big red bow… just so wonderful! And Jack in his sailor suite – so cute!

I know I’ve posted this at least twice before, it’s from a compilation video called Gay Erotica From the Past 8, which is a series of videos showing gay porno clips from the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s. For years I’ve been trying to figure out the source – which particular film this was excerpted from, but alas I haven’t been able to figure it out. While it’s not unusual for a porno to just seemingly randomly add some pop music to the soundtrack, when you see the end of this clip, you’ll see they definitely planned to use this tune for the soundtrack. In fact, Gay Erotica From the Past 8 contains several scenes from this film, and most of the scenes use Lou Reed’s Transformer as the soundtrack. It’s just 2-1/2 minutes, so wait til the Doo do doo, doo do doo, doo do doo

A reader writes (or is that a writer writing?): “I was wondering if you had any info on the song / singer / title of the music in scene 2 of Cruising the Castro, the scene with the hot truck driving blond stud that picks up and royally fucks the the hot 20 something after showing him around a home he is renovating. It’s an all time favorite scene and the song haunts me.” And after 5 or 6 watches/listens, and a bunch of googling, I’m just stumped – and now it’s haunting me, too!

Anyone know who does the tune (it starts about 3+ minutes into this 10-minute clip)?

ugh; each time i go to record/convert a clip, I realize that the sound ALWAYS SUCKS! (and not in a good way); as I am recording, and watching and listening, it looks and sounds fine, but somehow, it gets distorted and by the time I watch the WMV file, the sound is horrible. And I point that out not just to explain why I so rarely do clips anymore (it is, indeed, discouraging to do low quality stuff), but to point out that despite the sound issue, you need to turn the speakers up so you can enjoy this wonderful theme song – don’t know who did it, or what the name is, but it tells us that “Christopher Street, Christopher Street, you find your meat on Christopher Street” – if only it was as true today as it was 35 years ago!

bonus points for transcribing the lyrics, and/or finding out who did the theme song!
